Weekend
90 women invaded Newcastle on 13th - 15th November 2010 for the Baptist Women's Weekend.
The speaker was Sharon Acheson from Portadown. Sharon brought us lessons from the book of Esther. On Friday evening we had an introduction to the book which wetted our appetite for the weekend. We looked at the Providence of God on Saturday morning and saw how difficult events in our lives can be used for God's glory. On Saturday night we had a look at the character of Esther and compared her inner beauty to the fruit of the Spirit as it should be seen in our own lives. On Sunday morning we looked at the Promises of God as the enemies of God were destroyed in the land and we were reminded that God is faithful.
Kim Kelly brought a Missionary Update on Saturday morning.
On Saturday evening a "Baptist Women's got Talent" show entertained those in the audience!
Many friendships were renewed and many new friendships were formed over the weekend and "times of refreshing" were enjoyed both physically and spiritually!
